FUCKING AMAZING SHOW
—Radiohead

Just about a year ago, March 2011, we played our first live show.
We had some original tunes & “Vixen” under our belt but we started off as a cover band, entitled “Doppelganger.”
We graced the people of Casey Jone’s Saloon with Led Zep & Pixies covers.
The next month, April 7th, we did the same but at The Village Lantern, by Bleecker
(see photo above).
The rest is history
We’ve struggled but grown as a group along the way. From surviving the crazy parties, dealing with the scummiest of business owners, financial problems, girls, managing rehearsal every week & the list goes on. We’ve met a lot of people that we would’ve never met otherwise and we’re thankful for the faces we filled with interest.
Smiles are your best form of payment to us.
There has been more good out of this band than bad. I’m grateful for Murota, Danny E. and Mike for picking me up. The band is going places and we definitely like the music we’re making. Forrest has been nothing short of helpful too, who I enlisted into the band.
New songs are in the works and the LP is rolling into production.
We’re playing our biggest show yet at the Knitting Factory, in a week. A Battle of the bands, no less, that we hope to win. We’re doing a singer/songwriter thing at a cafe the day before, since we were asked to.
We’ll be playing the Elephant Talk (Indie Mag) Autism benefit Music festival in Atlantic City on May 18th.
Our main focus, starting from May, will be to start recording for the LP. That means less shows, well, less shows in New York and more elsewhere.
We have been in constant inspiration mode since 2012 hit and we hope to keep it that way.
Stay classy & frosty… cheers,
Danny Avila

Today’s soundtrack as I reflect on the past year.
On the Poll:
So, we were recently selected for Emerging Artists’ zombie themed battle of the bands at the Knitting Factory.
“We’ve had over 700 applications…We’ve selected The Top 20 Applicants, now it’s your turn to decide who gets to battle it out!”
There’s a poll running since this past Saturday and it ends tomorrow (March 9th) @ 10 PM!
Without further delay, I’d like to ask you to
Vote for Stereo Space!
You can vote every 12 hours(once every 12 hours per IP)
and every
counts.
Here’s the link: http://www.eacmix.com/2012/03/bandsurvival/
The rewards would be super beneficial to the band! we’re currently in the top 6th … we’re really hoping to be a part of the competition!!!
On the LP: because the effort/money we’re putting into the making of our 1st actual release exceeded our expectations, we’re officially calling it an LP.
Will be self-released unless we get signed to a good label before doing so.
All of the artists have been working hard… and I just recently added an artist to the list, Mr. Lorenz Hideyoshi. I don’t know much about his roots but he resides in Germany. This project really has gone international, with Raf in Dubai, Chris in the UK!
His deviantart page: http://hideyoshi.deviantart.com/
He has over 500,000 pageviews! wuttt! Lorenz is a kind & talented soul who I am eternally grateful for contributing to the stereo space LP. Check out his deviantArt and “watch” his gallery.
On tumblr updating: Admittedly, I’ve been cutting back on taking pictures at shows then uploading them here like I said I would. No more! Consider my camera in my gig bag. The past awesome/not so awesome shows will only remembered in memory =/
Next gig?: That upper east side music festival at bar east thing on March 15th. 21+ https://www.facebook.com/events/294130713958578/
If you like us and you’re 21, come out! There will be actual judges doing what they do best.
I know when I start writing like this, there’s almost no stopping me so thanks for reading all this way! =]
Cheers,
Danny Avila
side note about the poll: I want to remember this. The poll was originally posted last week but was reset and recoded due to scripting abuse before. You used to be able to vote every second on the poll, it was chaos; whether through manual labor voting or multiple computer scripted voting, votes shot up to the thousands. I dismissed the poll on their website and Mike (vocalist) put up what I had said on facebook. It caused a lot of controversy between the bands. There was also a misunderstanding with EAC and we were almost blacklisted from EAC events… but now, all has been resolved & the poll’s a little more fair.

Not mine, but absolutely something I agree with. Just dive in. If something doesn’t work, go to the next thing. You never know what how something you create will react to a potential audience.
